This is Beauty 2012

New season, new hair and make up.
Get ready for fresh looks and Inspirational extremes.
Spring/Summer beauty!

YSL spring '12

This season is no different and make-up is fun again. From choosing your place on the hair-textures spectrum, embracing vintage metallics, working a perfect peach or creating " danced -in" skin, here are the trends you need to know.

If last season was all about the " powerful woman" then s/s'12 is her younger sister's turn!

Nicole Farhi

Charlotte Tilbury

Bright

Bright lips were conspicuous by their absence this season, so flowery-inspired techniques stood out:
Rosebud lips at Erdem, tulip pink at Issey Miyake and a burting orchid effect at Prabal Gurung.

(I like Revlon super Lustrous Lipstick in wild orchid )

Issey Miyake

Erdem

Peachy

Max Mara, Versace, Louis Vuitton and much more.. Peach is the new bronze.
Why? because it's warming to the complexion and has a flattering effect to the face.
Make up maestro Path McGrath ( i have wrote about her in my previous posts)
used peach at most of her shows. including Prada and Gucci - to create highlights and make the skin look healthier. It makes the models look sunny and gorgeous without the illusion of a tan.

Jaeger

(I like Blush Horizon de Chanel)

The blues

This was the surprise hit of the summer catwalks.
Blue is usually wintery look.
The early twentieth century provided the inspiration  - there were sparkle at Ungaro and Gucci

Gucci

Art deco shapes at Rodarte

Eyeshadows applied heavily up to the browbone then smudged out.

Craft Works

Makeup artists looked beyond the traditional this season.
Again :) Pat McGrath did eyelid sequins at Givenchy, pearls at Chanel and the crafty use of pink card and black tape in place of eyeliner at Victor & Rolf and Richard Niccol.

Victor & Rolf

both Chanel

( can try our Mac lashes by Gareth Pugh )

Metallics

Metallic make up took on a vintage rather than futuristic feel.
Eyes were burnished in muted shades of silver and bronze.

Mark Fast

Balmain

( i like MAC Metal X eyeshadows)

Eyebrows

make-up artist  Peter Phillips says that this will be the season of strong brows.
At Chanel, Kenzo, Jil Sander he filled them in using deep brown eyeshadows rather that traditional pencil. He explains that it enhances them without being obvious.

Jil Sander

( i like Chanel Ombre essentielle in Mahogany)

I hope that this Post will be useful  for you in your everyday life or working for projects :)

Have a nice week :)

5 most coveted products, and why?

TJ: Models Canvas Primer and Highlighter: I start every make-up look with it. It nourishes and primes the skin before foundation, but I also use it on top of foundation to give a natural skin-like glow. It's not greasy, it just gives a really fresh finish. The highlighter then pops areas of the skin like the bridge of the nose, cheek bones, cupids bow just above the lip, even on the clavicles and balls of the shoulders. It gives the effect of instant retouching.

Revlon’s ColorStay Liquid Foundation: The ColorStay formula gives a long lasting finish and the effect of flawless skin with its natural-looking coverage. I even use it for body make-up. When creating a faux tan, I’ve used the darker shades on pale skin tones to give an even, natural-looking sun kissed effect.

Benefit’s Benetint, liquid cheek and lip tint: I think every girl knows about Benetint. By applying a touch to the apple of the cheeks and lips you get a natural, rosy flush.
I first found out about it from actress Eva Mendes, who often only wore mascara, Benetint on her lips and cheeks, and lip gloss. It makes the skin look alive and fresh.
It’s especially good for olive, medium, and darker tones who don’t always get a natural rosy flush - this gives that effect. You can layer it on the lips for a bright cherry red lip color that lasts for hours and never fades, and all you have to do is add a sheer or shimmery lip gloss.

Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Beige Massai: It’s easy to get addicted to this palette, it’s just so beautiful and rich. It’s the prefect neutral brown palette that works on blondes, brunettes, and redheads.

YSL Rouge Volupté in Sensual Silk: This color is perfect for a smokey eye and beige lip look. It’s that perfect Sophia Loren color that makes any woman sexy, womanly, and glamorous.

Troy Jensen has worked on many a familiar face, including Amanda Bynes, Catherine Deneuve and Kim Kardashian. He also provides his expert advice on MSN’s Style Studio as a member of the Glam Squad. He has agreed to provide some tips and tricks for Spring and Summer beauty for Raging Rouge readers to enjoy! Read on…
Self tanning tricks: Troy suggests using fine mist tanner, which sprays on smoothly and evenly. Spray on body where tanning is desired and let it dry. Troy also suggests trying spray on makeup as an alternative to using self tanner. Simply choose a shade darker than your skin tone, mist all over your face, and then set with a powder.
Use a pearl highlighter or cream to highlight high cheekbones or create an angular jaw.
Sixties-inspired makeup colors that are all the rage on runways this spring. Choose a sixties-inspired color palette that matches your skin tone. For eyes, he recommends raspberries or purples for darker skin tones. For fair skin, he says sea foam green or periwinkle. Complete your modern sixties-inspired look with a pale, glossy lip color.
Tips for getting a youthful blush: For pale skin, Troy advises sticking to a soft pink or peach. Medium skin tones may choose bronzer and brighter hues. And for those with darker skin, he recommends using bronzer or a terra cotta color.
Enhance your Features. Troy explains how to use makeup to minimize your nose and make your lips look fuller. For the nose, shade across the forehead, bridge of the nose & cheeks with a bronzer or dark powder. For the lips, Troy suggests to line the lips just above the cupid’s box and below the center of the bottom lip. Make sure to blend the liner, and then apply a neutral lip color towards the center of the lips. For extra fullness, highlight the bottom center of the lip.
